CORNERSTONE FREE METHODIST CHURCH

Good afternoon, Church Family

In the Bible reading from the week prior, we read about Solomon’s Temple.  One interesting and repetitive phrase was “He Is good! His faithful love endures forever!” (5:13, 7:3).

The goodness of God is truly good! His goodness is a blessing. And so today we are praising God for two wonderful blessings that arrived this week.  Together, let’s celebrate these two blessings.

Welcome to the world Amy Elizabeth, daughter of Chrystal Borrowman (baby in heart onesie)! Welcome to the world Olivia Iris, daughter of Jason and Joanne Borrowman (baby in plaid onesie)! The goodness of God overflows!

Since the beginning of January, I have been pondering some thoughts that came from the Bible Through The Year readings.  Traditionally during the time of Lent, I post Lenten poetry as my email devotion.  I will be doing that again once Lent begins.  In my readings from 2 Chronicles last week, I was impressed with the variety of artists involved in building the Temple. Sculpters, weavers, farmers, guards, engineers, priests, lumberjacks… So many different types of people are mentioned in the beginning of 2 Chronicles.

I was thinking about our own congregation, and I would like to add something to the Lenten poetry that will be happening in my email updates – photography.  But not just any photography – Cornerstone photography!  Each week I would like to add a picture of nature.  Landscapes, if you will.  No pictures of people, just things you see out your window, or on your walk, or in your garden.  I have included two examples of what I am looking for.  One is a photo of Prince Albert taken by Verna Henry (used with permission), and one that I took a few years ago out my window.  Over the next few weeks, if you have a picture or two that you think would fit into that category and that you are willing to have shared in my email update, can you please email them to me?  We have so much talent – I can’t wait to see what arrives over the next few weeks.

Mark your calendar – lots is happening in the next couple of weeks.

This Sunday – Welcoming Caleb Sigstad into membership (weather permitting). Noah Vankoughnett-Mouland will be giving an update on his upcoming Mission Trip. We are also celebrating Communion.

We are so very thankful for your ongoing generosity. Cornerstone keeps its doors open and participates in ministry due to your willingness to give of your tithes and offerings.

There will be a full financial update at our Annual Meeting on February 23.

Pray that we will meet our bills and be able to continue participating in Kingdom Building and Church Care.  Please remember Cornerstone in your regular giving.

Reminder that we now have e-transfer as another way to give to the church. E-transfers go to etransfer@cfmcpa.ca   Two things to remember when sending an e-transfer to Cornerstone.  1.  The Security Question can be anything you like, but please ALWAYS make the Security Answer ilovemychurch (no spaces). 2. If you wish to give for a specific purpose just make a note of it in the message/comments box when you send the e-transfer.

You can also send a cheque to the church or donate during the service.  2200 – 15 Ave East . Prince Albert, Sk  S6V 6J5

We have a NEW PRAY TOOL.   In a church our size, it is quite “normal” for people to sit in certain seats.  For 2025, let’s use a mental seating chart to pray for everyone.  Each day, think / visualise a certain row(s) of seats in the sanctuary, and who normally sits there. Pray for those people.

Then, think of the empty chairs in the sanctuary. Let us pray that they will not be empty for long.

I am still including the names of everyone to make sure that no one is missed. Let us continue to be ALL IN FOR PRAYER.   1 Timothy 2:1 says I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.

NOTE: If you are not on this list but would like to be, please let Pastor Dyan know.  NOTE: This list has been updated as of February, 2025. Please modify your list accordingly.
