Good afternoon, Church Family,
Over the last six weeks we have been looking at Lenten Poetry and local photography from our congregation. This will be the last week our devotion will consist of these two components. I know that many of you have sent in lots of photos and although I wasn’t able to use everybody’s art, I hope I have included at least one piece from each person who sent in samples of their photography. Thank you all for sharing.
This week’s art is brought to you by Rose Mineau (Waterfall), and Faith Crawford (Sunset) and our poem was written by an American Presbyterian elder named Anne Weems. I think that this poem captures the true essence of Holy Week.

“Holy Week” by Ann Weems
Holy is the week …
Holy, consecrated, belonging to God …
We move from hosannas to horror
with the predictable ease
of those who know not what they do.
Our hosannas sung,
our palms waved,
let us go with passion into this week.
It is a time to curse fig trees that do not yield fruit.
It is a time to cleanse our temples of any blasphemy.
It is a time greet Jesus as the Lord’s Anointed One,
to lavishly break our alabaster
and pour perfume out for him
without counting the cost.
It is a time for preparation …
The time to give thanks and break bread is upon us.
The time to give thanks and drink of the cup is imminent.
Eat, drink, remember:
On this night of nights, each one must ask,
as we dip our bread in the wine,
“Is it I?”
And on that darkest of days, each of us must stand
beneath the tree
and watch the dying
if we are to be there
when the stone is rolled away.
The only road to Easter morning
is through the unrelenting shadows of that Friday.
Only then will the alleluias be sung;
only then will the dancing begin.

Good Friday Service is this Friday, April 18 and is being hosted at Gateway Covenant Church (1500 – 15 Ave E) starting at 10:30 am. Light refreshments to follow.
Many people only come to church on Easter and Christmas. What a great opportunity to invite a friend for Easter. As part of the celebration of Easter, we will be having a light “continental breakfast” potluck before the service. Please consider bringing some extra snacks to share on Easter morning before the service, starting around 10:40.
Update on Noah’s Mission Trip. Noah was scheduled to go to Peru in a couple of weeks for a Mission Trip. On March 19, Peru declared a state of emergency due to a terrible and violent crime wave. After much consultation, Noah will still be going on a mission trip with Action International as scheduled, but instead his team will be going to Costa Rica. They will be participating in similar activities in their new destination. Please pray for the team as they shift their focus.
Lenten Lunches conclude this Thursday (tomorrow).
Pastor Dyan and Chad will be on holidays the week of April 21 – 28 and will be travelling out of the province. There will not be an email update next week. In case of emergency, please contact Verda Graham (Board Chair).
Scrapbooking takes place Thursday evenings. Bible Study begins at 6:45, followed by Scrapbooking at 7:30. Note: there is no Scrapbooking on April 17 or 24th.
Sunday School for all ages from 10am to 10:40 am. Note: there is no Sunday School on Easter Sunday and April 27.
Tuesday morning Bible Studies at 9:30.
Remember that there is Wednesday morning Prayer time at 9:30. A coffee time begins at 10:00 – everyone is welcome.

Pray for our upcoming Good Friday Service at Gateway Covenant, and for our Easter Celebration at Cornerstone this Sunday.

Reminder that we now have e-transfer as another way to give to the church. E-transfers go to etransfer@cfmcpa.ca Two things to remember when sending an e-transfer to Cornerstone. 1. The Security Question can be anything you like, but please ALWAYS make the Security Answer ilovemychurch (no spaces). 2. If you wish to give for a specific purpose just make a note of it in the message/comments box when you send the e-transfer.
You can also send a cheque to the church or donate during the service. 2200 – 15 Ave East . Prince Albert, Sk S6V 6J5

PRAYER TOOL. In a church our size, it is quite “normal” for people to sit in certain seats. For 2025, let’s use a mental seating chart to pray for everyone. Each day, think / visualise a certain row(s) of seats in the sanctuary, and who normally sits there. Pray for those people.
Then, think of the empty chairs in the sanctuary. Let us pray that they will not be empty for long.
I am still including the names of everyone to make sure that no one is missed. Let us continue to be ALL IN FOR PRAYER. 1 Timothy 2:1 says I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.
